We at High On Adventure continue to live with the fact that life has changed for all of us over this past difficult year. However, since our last issue, we are glad to report that there has been good news regarding the increased numbers of people getting vaccinated against COVID-19. Millions of Americans have been inoculated and the numbers are rising every day.
Although, under certain circumstances we can now venture outdoors without masks if we have been vaccinated, this does not mean we can just go back to pre-COVID-19 behaviors nor travel anywhere at will. As the COVID-19 situation changes globally, the CDC (www.cdc.gov) is monitoring COVID-19 risk in destinations around the world and making travel recommendations. And, if you'e planning to travel within the U.S., CDC advice is to get important information about your destination (by entering its zip code in the CDC website) as you consider traveling to different cities and states across the country.
We will continue to bring you some of our recent adventures along with some relevant stories that address our current circumstances in the hopes that our writers can bring you information to make your present travel disruptions more manageable and your future travel plans richer and more sensible and secure.
At press time, we know that the COVID-19 situation and its variants continue to unfold, but with the positive view that the vaccines coupled with the continued follow-the-science practices of hand-washing, social-distancing and mask-wearing will soon bring us to some semblance of normal life and activities.
We trust that our stories bring you some armchair travel delights and prepare you for whatever roadblocks you might encounter along your highways. Meanwhile, stay safe, be well, wear your masks when you must, and wash those paws. We’ll be back again in July when we all hope we can be closer to more safely going out and exploring a bit farther from home. |
