We visit the personal home, studio, school and 800-acre agricultural estate of the eccentric architect, where the unexpected scandal of seven savage slaughters loomed even larger than the existing saga of Frank Lloyd Wright's reputation when he built this home in 1911 for himself and the woman for whom he had left his first wife and six children.

Rather than concentrating on Food Street as so many people do, we went farther out, revisiting one of our fav unsung spots, sampling a couple of places from the area’s “Dumpling Trail,” diving into Korean shave ice and, of course, the weekend night market.

Mention the Illinois River and most folks go, "Huh!" or, "Where's that?"The Illinois begins at the crest of the Siskiyou Mountains near the Oregon-California border. The river makes a brief appearance off Highway 199 near Cave Junction before turning reclusive, tumbling through the coastal mountains of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness.
