Wilderness survival expert Thomas Coyne and international stuntwoman Ky Furneaux have joined forces to “Hike for Survival.” Beginning on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, the duo will set forth from Central California at the Kaweah River Reservoir in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, where they will journey across approximately 125 miles to reach the Mojave Desert. For this extreme adventure, the team will only travel with a pocketknife and a daypack through challenging wilderness, without any water, food or fire. They will each carry small POV cameras as well as a high-definition hand-held video camera to capture every step along the way.
“From the moment we wake up till the moment we go to sleep, we will be focused on obtaining fire, water, food, medicine and shelter,” said Coyne, founder of Survival Training School of California. “We will do this while hiking from one point to another.” |
