When You Go -- Glacier Bay and Southeast Alaska

Glacier Bay Tours & Cruises, the Glacier Bay National Park concessionaire operated by Goldbelt (800)451-5952, runs three tour ships within Glacier Bay: the Spirit of Adventure, Wilderness Explorer, and Crystal Fjord. Trips range from a single day to six days with drop-offs possible. Guided sea kayak trips vary from six hours near Bartlett Cove to several days in the bay.

Staying There: Most short-term travelers stay at the Glacier Bay Lodge

(800)451-5952, which has rooms and dorm space. A wide range of lodges, bed & breakfast inns, and luxury resorts are available in the Gustavus area. Contact the Gustavus Visitors Association at (907)697-2285. A National Park Service campground is located about a half-mile from Glacier Bay Lodge. For park information call (907)697-2230.
